NATIONAL HEALTH SURVEY: INJURIES AUSTRALIA
An estimated 11% of people from NSW reported being injured in the four weeks leading up to the National Health Survey in 2001. According to figures published in National Health Survey: Injuries, Australia (cat. no. 4384.0) in November, this was the lowest rate of recent injury among all States and the ACT. Western Australia reported the highest percentage of injuries in the four weeks before the survey (14%). Patterns of injury in NSW varied by age group, with 15 to 24 year olds experiencing the highest level of injury (18%).
