INJURY IN AUSTRALIA: A SNAPSHOT
Injury in Australia: A Snapshot, 2001 (cat.no.4825.0.55.001) was first released 23 November 2004. This publication provides a brief overview of the prevalence of injuries received in the previous four weeks, the type of injury, the damage caused by the injury, the activity and location at the time of injury, the part of the body affected and action taken. Risk factors, disabilities as a result of injury, hospitalisation, health system costs and mortality information are also discussed. Data is provided from the 2001 National Health Survey, the 1998 and 2003 ABS Survey of Disability, Ageing and Carers, and the 2002 ABS Causes of Death Collection.
