7212-13	Weaving Machine Operator
	Loom Operator

Operates looms to weave yarn into cloth, carpet or other fabrics.

Skill Level:
The entry requirement for this occupation is an AQF Certificate II or higher qualification or at least 1 years relevant experience.

Tasks Include:

sets up and inspects looms for broken strands
checks position of lengthwise yarn beams or spools
threads loom shuttles with cross-yarn arms
checks dimensions and starts looms
repairs breaks in yarn by tying or splicing ends
checks for and repairs faults in weave
carries out quality control procedures
replaces empty shuttles
reports mechanical and weaving faults to textile mechanics
maintains production records
