At the 2001 Census, people in the Greater Hobart-Southern Region recorded the highest computer use and Internet use, 39.1% and 36.5% respectively, of the three Tasmanian Regions. For farms, the highest computer use and Internet use for business operations was recorded by farms in the Northern Region, 53% and 41% respectively.
There is a relationship between age and use of computers and the Internet. At the 2001 Census, people aged 0-24 years recorded the highest levels of computer use (46.0%). People aged 25-49 years recorded the highest levels of Internet use (42.2%).
