A Carer Payment is a payment to a person providing full-time personal care or supervision to a person with a disability, medical condition or who is frail aged. Carer Payment also allows maximum opportunities to participate in society through respite provisions and training, education and employment assistance.
At 1 June 2001, Carer Payment was made to 9.7 per 1,000 persons in the local government area of Break O'Day. Tasmania as a whole recorded 4.0 Carer Payment recipients per 1,000 persons.
