Melville resident Margaret Stafford is about to set a record for the longest-serving Census collector in WA (and possibly Australia).
Margaret has worked on every Census since 1971, making this year's Census on Tuesday August 8 her eighth.
Amazingly, she has worked as a collector in all but one Census. That was in 1976.
"I actually enjoy being a collector more than a supervisor because it's gets me out and about meeting people," said Margaret, who will be collecting in Melville and Alfred Cove.
"It's very social and you get some exercise at the same time."
