The trend estimate of the total value of housing finance commitments for owner occupation in Queensland decreased by 3.7% to $2,729 million, from February 2010 to March 2010. Over the year to March 2010, in trend estimate terms, the value of housing finance commitments showed a decrease of 22%. Since March 2000, the average home loan commitment for owner occupied dwellings in Queensland has more than doubled from $122,400 to $281,900. In March 2010, the average loan size for first home buyers ($286,400) increased 1.3% from the previous month. The March 2010 average loan size for non-first home buyers ($281,200) decreased 1.1% from the previous month.
