Value of Agricultural Commodities Produced, Australia, 2008-09 (cat. no. 7503.0).
This publication contains final estimates of gross and local values of production of major agricultural commodities for all states, territories and Australia for the year ended 30 June 2009.
Some data for Queensland:
- In 2009, the gross value of crops was $4,884 million, the gross value for livestock slaughtering and other disposals was $4,033 million and the gross value for livestock products was $489 million.
- After deducting marketing costs from gross value, the local value for crops was $4,274 million, for livestock slaughtering and other disposals was $3,790 million and for livestock products was $468 million.
- Sugarcane for crushing had the highest gross value of any crop at $968 million, tomatoes had the highest agricultural value for vegetables at $188 million and bananas had the highest agricultural value for fruit and nuts at $390 million.
- Cattle and calves had the highest gross value for livestock slaughtering at $3366 million and whole milk had the highest gross value for livestock products at $293 million.
