HOUSING FINANCE The trend estimate of the total value of housing finance commitments for owner occupation in Queensland decreased by 1.6% to $2,621 million, from April 2010 to May 2010. Over the year to May 2010, in trend estimate terms, the value of housing finance commitments showed a decrease of 29%. Over the ten years from May 2000 to May 2010, the average home loan commitment for owner occupied dwellings in Queensland more than doubled from $117,000 to $276,000. In May 2010, the average loan size for first home buyers ($284,500) decreased 4.2% from the previous month. The May 2010 average loan size for non-first home buyers ($274,700) decreased 3.0% from the previous month.
