In 2003, some 20 (48.8%) of Tasmania's road accident fatalities were drivers and 11 (26.8%) were motor cyclists. Of the 20 driver fatalities, 7 (35.0%) occurred in both the Greater Hobart-Southern Region and the Mersey-Lyell Region, and 6 (30.0%) in the Northern Region.
