Diseases of the skin and subcutaneous tissue (L00-L98) accounted for 362 deaths in Australia in 2007. Of these, 216 (60%) were female and 146 (40%) were male. There were 162 (45%) deaths due to Diseases of the skin and subcutaneous tissue of people aged between 85 and 94 years, and a further 114 (31%) of people aged between 75 and 84 years. Of these deaths, 58% were female and 42% were male. The female median age at death of 86.6 years was 3.2 years higher than the male median age at death of 83.4 years. Persons aged 65 years and over accounted for 92% of these deaths due to Cellulitis.
