CAUSES OF DEATH
Between 2001 and 2005, Diseases of the circulatory system remained the main underlying cause of death in the ACT. In 2005, deaths from Diseases of the circulatory system accounted for 188.5 deaths per 100,000 population, or 34% of all deaths. Malignant neoplasms remained the second highest underlying cause of death between 2001 and 2005 in the ACT. In 2005 this cause accounted for 161 deaths per 100,000 population, or 29% of all deaths.
