Examines the impact of family and other responsibilities on people's access to a range of activities of their choice. Topics include time spent by young people, parents of children under 15, elderly people, people with disabilities and their carers, and people from English and non-English speaking backgrounds in leisure activities, social interaction, community involvement, caring activities; barriers because of responsibilities, disability or age; access to travel and transportation.
This publication is part of a series of publications for the International Year of the Family, based on findings from the 1992 Time Use Survey, the 1993 Survey of Disability, Ageing and Carers and the 1992 Survey of Families in Australia.
