DESCRIPTION
Australia in Profile: A Regional Analysis, is a social report which draws together a wide range of data from the Census of Population and Housing and describes some of the major differences in the characteristics of people living in various parts of Australia. Contrasts were made between people living in urban and rural areas as well as between regions.
There are seven chapters which cover the following main areas of social interest and concern:
- Population distribution and growth
- Cultural diversity
- Living arrangements
- Education
- Employment and unemployment
- Income and living standards, and
- Housing.
The Education chapter includes information on: school students, tertiary students, mature-age students and qualifications
