Commercial finance

• The total value of owner occupied housing commitments excluding alterations and additions increased in trend terms (up 1.7%) and the seasonally adjusted series rose 7.1%.

• The trend series for the value of total personal finance decreased 0.4%, with falls in both fixed lending commitments (down 0.8%) and revolving credit commitments (down 0.1%).
• The seasonally adjusted series for the value of total personal finance commitments increased 4.1%, due mainly to an increase in fixed lending commitments (up 8.9%). Revolving credit commitments were up slightly (0.7%).

• The trend series for the value of total commercial finance commitments decreased 1.7%, due to falls in both revolving credit commitments (down 2.5%) and fixed lending commitments (down 1.2%).
• The seasonally adjusted series for the value of total commercial finance commitments increased 1.8%, due to a rise in revolving credit commitments (up 40.4%), while fixed lending commitments fell (down 13.0%).

• Lease finance commitments (trend) decreased 0.4% and the seasonally adjusted series rose 5.1%.
