SEPTEMBER KEY POINTS


ORIGINAL ESTIMATES
  • In original terms, September 2014 imports on an international merchandise trade basis were $22,664m, an increase of $2,445m (12%) on the revised August 2014 merchandise imports of $20,219m.


PRELIMINARY BALANCE OF PAYMENTS GOODS IMPORTS
  • Preliminary analysis shows that goods debits (imports) on a balance of payments basis in original terms rose $2,301m (11%) between August and September 2014.
  • In seasonally adjusted terms, goods debits rose $1,480m (7%) between August and September 2014 to $22,948m. Intermediate and other merchandise goods rose $973m (11%), capital goods rose $187m (4%), consumption goods rose $186m (3%) and non-monetary gold rose $135m (59%).


REVISIONS
  • Revisions have been made to the previous six months to incorporate the latest administrative data relating to international merchandise trade.
  • The preliminary balance of payments debits estimates incorporate the latest available data.
