DATA NOTES

As per the change to the Wine Australia Corporation Act 1980, the following terms have been changed from this issue: 'Sherry' is now known as 'Cream, crusted/crusting and solera fortified'; and 'Port' is now known as 'Vintage, ruby and tawny fortified'.

A significant change was observed in the reporting of bulk wine sales between the June 2009 quarter and September 2009 quarter; however, the total impact is unquantifiable. Significant revisions have been made to the period spanning September 2008 quarter to June 2009 quarter inclusive. Users should view quarterly movements during this period with caution.

From the September quarter 2009, data relating to the export of Australian produced wine is no longer included in this publication. Information regarding export data can be obtained by contacting the National Information and Referral Service on 1300 135 070.

Due to the seasonal nature of the data, quarterly movements are no longer included in commentary.

Further information on domestic sales and imports data is available by downloading the time-series (original) spreadsheets:
