In September quarter 2016, there were 93 disputes, 33 more than in June quarter 2016.
The number of employees involved in industrial disputes in September quarter 2016 was 26,300, an increase from 20,500 in June quarter 2016.
There were 34,900 working days lost due to industrial disputation in September quarter 2016, an increase from 24,500 in June quarter 2016.
The Construction industry (14,500) had the highest number of working days lost by industry, accounting for 42% of total working days lost.
Queensland (13,600) and Victoria (13,400) had the highest number of working days lost in September quarter 2016. Combined, these two states accounted for 78% of total working days lost in the quarter.
YEAR ENDED ESTIMATES
During the year ended September 2016, there were 285 disputes, 63 more than in the year ended September 2015.
During the year ended September 2016, there were 106,500 working days lost, compared with 81,200 in the year ended September 2015.
