SUMMARY

  • In 2013-14, net overseas migration (NOM) reflected an annual gain of 212,700 persons, 9.7% less than in 2012-13.
  • An estimated 349,000 people moved interstate in 2013-14, an increase of 2.5% from the previous year.
  • At 30 June 2014, 28.1% of Australia's estimated resident population (ERP) (6.6 million people) was born overseas.
