(e) Life expectancy has been calculated using data for the three years ending in the year in the table heading.
(f) Data are for New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory combined, based on state or territory of usual residence. Victoria, Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory are excluded due to the small numbers of registered Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander deaths.
(g) Deaths per 1,000 estimated resident population for 2004 and population projections for 2013 and 2014.
(h) Infant deaths per 1,000 live births. These rates have been calculated for New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory combined, using data for the three years ending in the year in the table heading.
