A file containing unit record data from the Survey of Income and Housing. It is confidentialised and as such contains no names and addresses and the detail for some items of data has been reduced. The file is distributed on CD-ROM or can be accessed via the Remote Access Data Laboratory. Subject to the limitation of sample size and the data classifications used, it is possible to manipulate the data, produce tabulations and undertake statistical analyses to individual specifications.
This reissue includes corrections to both the Basic and Expanded CURFs. The model used to derive income tax and Family Tax Benefits has been revised to improve the quality of the estimates. These revisions impact both current and previous financial year data items relating to imputed tax, disposable income, equivalised disposable household income, income from family tax benefits and subsequently items relating to government pensions and allowances, total income from all sources and principal source of income, on the person, income unit and household datasets. For CURF users who have previously undertaken analyses on the CURFs it is recommended that this be reviewed to ensure any revisions to the file are taken into account. A detailed list of the items impacted by this reissue is contained in an Excel spreadsheet titled 'Items impacted in CURF reissue Dec 2011' in the 'Downloads' tab of Technical Manual: Income and Housing, Basic and Expanded CURF, Australia, 2007-08 (cat. no. 6541.0).
