This Technical Manual provides information about the release of microdata from the November 2007 Labour Force Status and Other Characteristics of Recent Migrants Survey. Microdata are the most detailed information available from a survey and are generally the answers to most individual questions included on the questionnaire or the data derived from answers to two or more questions. The microdata are available in an Expanded CURF which is accessible through the Remote Access Data Laboratory (RADL) and the ABS Data Laboratory (ABSDL). For information on applying for access to ABS CURFs, go to the CURF Microdata Entry Page on the ABS website.

This manual explains the data content, technical details and the conditions of use of the CURF and should be used as a reference document when interrogating the file. An Excel spreadsheet listing all the data items available on the CURF accompanies this manual.
