KEY POINTS
Livestock slaughtering and meat production quarterly trend movements for March 2016:
Beef production for the March Quarter 2016 fell 3 percent on December Quarter 2015 and 13 percent year on year.
Veal production decreased by 900 tonnes on the December Quarter and 4,300 tonnes year on year.
Mutton production in the March Quarter 2016 fell by 3 percent on the December Quarter 2015 and fell by 8 percent year on year.
Lamb production increased in the March Quarter 2016 by 1,900 tonnes or 1 percent and increased by 3 percent year on year.
The production of pork increased in the March Quarter 2016 by 100 tonnes compared to production in the December Quarter 2015.
