ABOUT THIS PUBLICATION

This publication provides estimates of wheat grain stocks held by bulk grain handlers. These estimates are compiled from the Grain Handlers Stocks Survey conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS). Prior to the June 2009 issue, the publication included bulk grain storage data for other grains as well as wheat. The scope of the collection has since changed to only include data relating to wheat.

KEY POINTS

At the end of July 2009, Australia's bulk storage of wheat grain was estimated at 5.8 million tonnes. This is 1.2 million tonnes less than last month.
