DESCRIPTION
The Australian Standard Geographical Classification (ASGC) is a hierarchical classification system of geographical areas and consists of a number of interrelated structures. It provides a common framework of statistical geography and enables the production of statistics which are comparable.

The ASGC 2005 has a date of effect of 1 July 2005.

The product 1216.0.15.002 ASGC 2005 Concordances contains four separate concordance files. These files are a comma delimited and include a metadata sheet showing the file format.

    2001 CD to 2005 SLA Concordance
    This file assists in the conversion of ASGC Edition 2001 Collection Districts (CDs) to ASGC Edition 2005 Statistical Local Areas (SLAs). This concordance includes Water CDs and those in Off Shore, Shipping or Migratory categories.

    2004 SLA to 2005 SLA Concordance
    This file assists in the conversion of 2004 SLAs to 2005 SLAs.

    2005 LGA to 2005 SLA Concordance
    This file identifies which LGAs comprise of which SLAs for 2005.

    2005 ASGC Structures Concordance
    This file shows the relationship of the Statistical Local Area (SLA) within the 2005 ASGC Structures: the Local Government Area Structure, the Main Structure, the Statistical District Structure and the Statistical Region Structure.
