JULY KEY POINTS
ORIGINAL ESTIMATES
- In original terms, July 2014 imports on an international merchandise trade basis were $21,807m, an increase of $1,511m (7%) on the revised June 2014 merchandise imports of $20,296m.
PRELIMINARY BALANCE OF PAYMENTS GOODS IMPORTS
- Preliminary analysis shows that goods debits (imports) on a balance of payments basis in original terms rose $1,472m (7%) between June and July 2014.
- In seasonally adjusted terms, goods debits rose $21m between June and July 2014 to $22,242m. Intermediate and other merchandise goods rose $82m (1%) and consumption goods rose $19m. Non-monetary gold fell $77m (23%) and capital goods fell $2m.
REVISIONS
- Revisions have been made to the previous six months to incorporate the latest administrative data relating to international merchandise trade.
- The preliminary balance of payments debits estimates incorporate the latest available data.
