• Trend estimates: Short-term visitor arrivals during February 2019 (781,800 movements) increased 0.1% when compared with January 2019 (780,900 movements). This followed monthly increases of 0.1% in December 2018 and 0.2% in January 2019. The current trend estimate for arrivals is 3% higher than in February 2018.
• Seasonally adjusted estimates: During February 2019, short-term visitor arrivals (786,100 movements) increased by 0.9% when compared with January 2019 (779,300 movements). This followed a monthly increase of 0.5% for December 2018 and a decrease of 0.2% for January 2019.
• Original estimates: There were 927,200 short-term visitor arrivals to Australia in February 2019.

• Trend estimates: Short-term resident returns during February 2019 (931,200 movements) decreased by 0.3% when compared with January 2019 (934,200 movements). No change was observed for December 2018 and a 0.2% decrease for January 2019. The current trend estimate for returns is 3.5% higher than in February 2018.
• Seasonally adjusted estimates: During February 2019, short-term resident returns (912,500 movements) decreased by 3.3% when compared with January 2019 (943,800 movements). This followed a monthly increase of 0.7% for December 2018 and a 0.1% increase for January 2019.
• Original estimates: There were 746,100 short-term resident returns to Australia in February 2019.
