TREND ESTIMATES

The trend estimate for short-term visitor arrivals to Australia for December 2007 (472,000 movements) increased by 0.2% compared with November 2007 (471,000 movements). This followed monthly increases of 0.2% for October 2007 and 0.1% for November 2007.


Short-term visitor arrivals have changed little since December 2006.

SEASONALLY ADJUSTED ESTIMATES

The seasonally adjusted estimate for short-term visitor arrivals to Australia for December 2007 (472,100 movements) decreased by 0.4% compared with November 2007 (474,200 movements). This followed a monthly decrease of 2.8% for October 2007 and a monthly increase of 2.5% for November 2007.

In original movement terms, there were an estimated 618,100 short-term visitor arrivals to Australia during December 2007.
