TREND ESTIMATES

The trend estimate for short-term visitor arrivals to Australia for June 2007 (477,700 movements), was slightly decreased from May 2007 (478,500 movements). This followed a monthly increase of 0.1% for April 2007 and a monthly decrease of 0.1% for May 2007.


Currently, short-term visitor arrivals are 5.3% higher than in June 2006.



SEASONALLY ADJUSTED ESTIMATES

The seasonally adjusted estimate for short-term visitor arrivals to Australia for June 2007 (477,200 movements) increased by 1.3% compared with May 2007 (471,300 movements). This followed monthly decreases of 5.1% for April 2007 and 1.0% for May 2007.

In original movement terms there were an estimated 400,600 short-term visitor arrivals to Australia during June 2007.
