KEY POINTS
Livestock and meat production monthly trend movements for September 2015:
Cattle slaughter continued to slow in September 2015, with abattoirs in Queensland reducing their days of operation due to high beef prices.
Calf slaughter continued to decrease in September 2015 reflecting the seasonal nature of this sector of the industry.
Sheep slaughter has continued to increase in September 2015 following recent low numbers in April 2015.
Lamb meat production has continued to decline in September 2015.
Pig slaughter continued to decline in September 2015 from the recent peak in March 2015.
