About this Release	Sets out a series of statistical development recommendations to expand the future availability and relevance of rural and regional statistics in Australia. Presents a detailed overview of the concepts, issues and themes associated with this field of statistics, with a particular focus on the nature and extent of current statistical demand. Through investigation of existing survey and administrative data sources, highlights specific gaps in the currently available suite of rural and regional information and proposes a plan via which significant gaps may be addressed. Recommendations will be implemented collaboratively by the ABS and other key producers of rural and regional data over the next 3 to 5 years.
