NOVEMBER KEY POINTS

Livestock and meat slaughter monthly trend movements for November 2017:
  • Cattle slaughter decreased 9,380 head (or 1.6%) for the monthly ending November 2017 compared with October 2017 and increased 7,850 head (or 1.3%) year-on-year.
  • Calf slaughter increased 370 head (or 0.9%) for the monthly ending November 2017 compared with October 2017 and increased 2,920 head (or 8%) year-on-year.
  • Sheep slaughter decreased 2,220 head (or 0.3%) for the monthly ending November 2017 compared with October 2017 but increased 173,600 head (or 32.8%) year-on-year.
  • Lamb slaughter decreased 10,240 head (or 0.5%) for the monthly ending November 2017 compared with October 2017 and decreased 38,380 head (or 2%) year-on-year.
  • Pig slaughter increased 950 head for in the monthly ending November 2017 compared with October 2017 and increased 26,300 head (or 6.2%) year-on-year.
