Compared to April 2019:
- Cattle slaughtered decreased 0.4% to 685,800 head
- Beef production decreased 0.5% to 194,700 tonnes
Compared to May 2018:
- Cattle slaughtered increased 4.4%
- Beef production increased 1.4%
Calves
Compared to April 2019:
- Calves slaughtered increased 1.8% to 49,300 head
- Veal production increased 2.0% to 2,300 tonnes
Compared to May 2018:
- Calves slaughtered increased 36.3%
- Veal production increased 57.5%
Sheep
Compared to April 2019:
- Sheep slaughtered decreased 1.0% to 769,500 head
- Mutton production decreased 1.1% to 18,300 tonnes
Compared to May 2018:
- Sheep slaughtered decreased 8.5%
- Mutton production decreased 6.4%
Lamb
