TREND ESTIMATES

  • The trend estimate for calf slaughterings fell for the twelfth consecutive month, to 70,300. This was the lowest figure recorded since records began in July 1979.
  • The trend estimate for pig slaughterings fell for the eighth consecutive month, to 440,400. This was the lowest figure recorded since September 2001.
  • The trend estimate for cattle slaughterings fell for the fourth consecutive month, to 649,500.
