The trend estimate for the number of cattle slaughtered in September quarter 2007 fell by 3% to 2.0 million.
The trend estimate for the number of calves slaughtered in September quarter 2007 fell by 5% to 227,000.
In September quarter 2007, the trend estimate for the number of sheep slaughtered fell by 9% to 2.7 million. The number of lambs slaughtered rose by 2% to 5.3 million.
In September quarter 2007, the trend estimate for the number of pigs slaughtered remained steady at 1.3 million.
In September quarter 2007, the trend estimate for beef production fell by 2% to 525,000 tonnes.
In September quarter 2007, the trend estimate for mutton production fell by 7% to 57,200 tonnes. The trend estimate for lamb production rose by 2% to 108,000 tonnes.
The trend estimate for red meat production fell by 2% to 794,000 tonnes in September quarter 2007.
The trend estimate for chicken meat production remained steady at 202,000 tonnes in September quarter 2007.
The trend estimate for whole milk intake by factories in June quarter 2007 fell by 2% to 2.3 billion litres.
The trend estimate for wool receivals by brokers and dealers in September quarter 2007 fell by 4% to 108,000 tonnes.
Live sheep exports rose by 70% to 953,000 in September quarter 2007. Gross value rose by 74% for the quarter, up to $65.7 million. Unit value rose by 2% to $68.94.
