NOTES
ABOUT THIS PUBLICATION
This publication contains preliminary estimates of principal agricultural commodities and livestock numbers for the 2007-08 season and comparative data for the previous two years. The data are based on a response rate of 73% from the 2007-08 Agricultural Resource Management Survey. More comprehensive and updated commodity estimates for the 2007-08 season will be published in May 2009 in Agricultural Commodities, Australia (cat. no. 7121.0).
Also included are preliminary estimates on management responses to adverse seasonal conditions from the 2007-08 Agricultural Resource Management Survey. These data provide an overview of responses to adverse seasonal conditions such as drought, severe frosts, hail, severe storms, flood, or an increase in seasonal variability, experienced by agricultural businesses during the 2007-08 season. More comprehensive and updated estimates will be published in May 2009 in Land Management and Farming in Australia (cat. no. 4627.0).
CHANGES IN THIS ISSUE
Due to reduced content being collected in the Agricultural Resource Management Survey than in previous Agricultural Surveys and the Agricultural Census, a less detailed range of livestock estimates are presented in this issue than in previous years. For further detail, refer to paragraph 2 of the Explanatory Notes.
Comparative data are presented for the previous two years, representing all years where the new ATO based Australian Business Register of agricultural businesses was used.
This issue includes preliminary estimates on management responses to adverse seasonal conditions.
