QUARTERLY ESTIMATES
- For the September quarter 2007, there were 45 disputes, 13 more than in the June quarter 2007.
- The number of employees involved in industrial disputes in the September quarter 2007 was 5,900, an increase from 4,500 in the June quarter 2007.
- There were 11,300 working days lost due to industrial disputation in the September quarter 2007, an increase from 7,100 in the June quarter 2007.
- The Manufacturing industry accounted for 5,900 (52%) of the total number of working days lost in the September quarter 2007. The Coal mining industry had the highest number of working days lost per thousand employees (62.6) for the quarter.
- In the September quarter 2007, Victoria accounted for 6,400 (57%) of working days lost. Victoria also had the highest number of working days lost per thousand employees (2.8) for the quarter.
YEAR ENDED ESTIMATES
- During the year ended September 2007, there were 151 disputes, 105 less than in the year ended September 2006.
- During the year ended Septmeber 2007, there were 79,600 working days lost compared with 159,400 in the year ended September 2006.
