QUARTERLY ESTIMATES
- For the March quarter 2008, there were 39 disputes, 3 more than in the December quarter 2007.
- The number of employees involved in industrial disputes in the March quarter 2008 was 42,300, an increase from 23,700 in the December quarter 2007.
- There were 42,800 working days lost due to industrial disputation in the March quarter 2008, an increase from 24,400 in the December quarter 2007.
- The Education and Health and community services industries accounted for 34,400 (80%) of the total number of working days lost in the March quarter 2008. The Education and Health and community services industries also had the highest number of working days lost per thousand employees (19.3) for the quarter.
YEAR ENDED ESTIMATES
- During the year ended March 2008, there were 142 disputes, 6 more than in the year ended March 2007.
- During the year ended March 2008, there were 85,600 working days lost compared with 109,500 in the year ended March 2007.
