QUARTERLY ESTIMATES
- For the June quarter 2007, there were 32 disputes, 1 less than in the March quarter 2007.
- The number of employees involved in industrial disputes in the June quarter 2007 was 4,500, an increase from 3,600 in the March quarter 2007.
- There were 7,100 working days lost due to industrial disputation in the June quarter 2007, an increase from 6,900 in the March quarter 2007.
- The Metal product and Machinery and equipment manufacturing industries accounted for 2,300 (32%) of the total number of working days lost in the June quarter 2007. The Coal mining industry had the highest number of working days lost per thousand employees (67.1) for the quarter.
- In the June quarter 2007, Victoria accounted for 2,800 (39%) of working days lost. Victoria also had the highest number of working days lost per thousand employees (1.2) for the quarter.
YEAR ENDED ESTIMATES
- During the year ended June 2007, there were 144 disputes, 210 less than in the year ended June 2006.
- During the year ended June 2007, there were 88,400 working days lost compared with 188,600 in the year ended June 2006.
