OCTOBER KEY POINTS
ORIGINAL ESTIMATES
- In original terms, October 2015 imports on an international merchandise trade basis were $24,235m, an increase of $167m (1%) on the revised September 2015 merchandise imports of $24,068m.
PRELIMINARY BALANCE OF PAYMENTS GOODS IMPORTS
- Preliminary analysis shows that goods debits (imports) on a balance of payments basis in original terms rose $426m (2%) to $25,103m between September and October 2015.
- In seasonally adjusted terms, goods debits rose $95m between September and October 2015 to $23,792m. Intermediate and other merchandise goods rose $269m (3%) and capital goods rose $243m (4%). Consumption goods fell $349m (4%) and non-monetary gold fell $69m (14%).
REVISIONS
- Revisions on an international merchandise trade basis have been applied back to April 2015.
- The preliminary balance of payments debits estimates incorporate the latest available data.
