JULY KEY POINTS
ORIGINAL ESTIMATES
- In original terms, the July 2010 merchandise imports were $18,736m, an increase of $829m (5%) on the revised June 2010 merchandise imports of $17,907m.
PRELIMINARY BALANCE OF PAYMENTS GOODS IMPORTS
- Preliminary analysis shows that goods imports (debits) on a balance of payments basis increased $366m (2%) in seasonally adjusted terms from $18,420m in June 2010 to $18,786m in July 2010. Intermediate and other merchandise goods rose $682m (8%) with the other merchandise goods component up $465m, and capital goods rose $16m. Non-monetary gold fell $269m (44%) and consumption goods fell $64m (1%).
