WHAT ARE ENVIRONMENTAL ACCOUNTS?

The notion of accounting for the environment is becoming increasingly popular and the term can be used in a number of ways to mean a variety of things.

The ABS recently released a brief Information Paper which will help to inform users about the types of environmental accounts that the ABS produces. It also compares them with other types of accounts, as well as with environment information and statistics more generally.
