Explanatory Notes Appendix 1: Health conditions tables (Appendix)	This publication presents results from the National Health Survey, 2014-15 conducted throughout Australia from July 2014 to June 2015. Previous surveys were conducted in 1989-90, 1995, 2001, 2004-05, 2007-08 and 2011-12. Health surveys conducted by the ABS in 1977-78 and 1983, while not part of the NHS series, also collected similar information. The aim of the NHS is to provide a rich information base that supports a wide range of policy relevant research in the broad area of health, and provides evidence for informed decision-making; both of which are essential for making and measuring progress in relation to the health and wellbeing of Australians. The main concepts relating to long-term health conditions are each separately within the Glossary. The conditions identified as being associated with mortality are listed in Appendix 1.
