Trend estimates: Short-term visitor arrivals during October 2014 (584,100 movements) increased 0.3% compared with September 2014 (582,200 movements). This followed monthly increases of 0.4% in both August 2014 and September 2014. The current trend estimate for arrivals is 7.2% higher than in October 2013.
Seasonally adjusted estimates: During October 2014, short-term visitor arrivals (590,900 movements) increased 1.6% compared with September 2014 (581,900 movements). This followed a monthly increase of 1.3% in August 2014 and a monthly increase of 0.6% in September 2014.
Original estimates: There were 583,800 short-term visitor arrivals to Australia in October 2014.
SHORT-TERM RESIDENT DEPARTURES FROM AUSTRALIA
Trend estimates: Short-term resident departures during October 2014 (755,300 movements) decreased 0.5% compared with September 2014 (759,200 movements). This followed monthly decreases of 0.1% in both August 2014 and September 2014. The current trend estimate for departures is 1.6% higher than in October 2013.
Seasonally adjusted estimates: During October 2014, short-term resident departures (756,500 movements) increased 0.1% compared with September 2014 (755,900 movements). This followed monthly decreases of 0.3% in August 2014 and 0.6% in September 2014.
Original estimates: There were 700,000 short-term resident departures from Australia in October 2014.
