Trend estimates: Short-term visitor arrivals during November 2014 (581,900 movements) increased 0.2% compared with October 2014 (580,900 movements). This followed monthly increases of 0.3% in September 2014 and 0.2% in October 2014. The current trend estimate for arrivals is 5.7% higher than in November 2013.
Seasonally adjusted estimates: During November 2014, short-term visitor arrivals (577,500 movements) decreased 2.0% compared with October 2014 (589,200 movements). This followed no change in September 2014 and a monthly increase of 1.7% in October 2014.
Original estimates: There were 603,700 short-term visitor arrivals to Australia in November 2014.
SHORT-TERM RESIDENT DEPARTURES FROM AUSTRALIA
Trend estimates: Short-term resident departures during November 2014 (755,200 movements) increased 0.1% compared with October 2014 (754,600 movements). This followed monthly decreases of 0.2% in September 2014 and 0.3% in October 2014. The current trend estimate for departures is 1.4% higher than in November 2013.
Seasonally adjusted estimates: During November 2014, short-term resident departures (752,200 movements) decreased 0.5% compared with October 2014 (755,900 movements). This followed a monthly decrease of 0.7% in September 2014 and an increase of 0.2% in October 2014.
Original estimates: There were 692,000 short-term resident departures from Australia in November 2014.
