Trend estimates: Short-term visitor arrivals during April 2015 (611,900 movements) increased 0.8% compared with March 2015 (606,900 movements). This followed monthly increases of 1.0% in both February 2015 and March 2015. The current trend estimate for arrivals is 7.2% higher than in April 2014.
Seasonally adjusted estimates: During April 2015, short-term visitor arrivals (610,300 movements) decreased 1.5% compared with March 2015 (619,500 movements). This followed a monthly increase of 4.0% in February 2015 and a monthly increase of 2.6% in March 2015.
Original estimates: There were 551,400 short-term visitor arrivals to Australia in April 2015.
SHORT-TERM RESIDENT DEPARTURES FROM AUSTRALIA
Trend estimates: Short-term resident departures during April 2015 (784,200 movements) increased 0.3% compared with March 2015 (781,900 movements). This followed monthly increases of 0.6% in February 2015 and 0.5% in March 2015. The current trend estimate for departures is 4.2% higher than in April 2014.
Seasonally adjusted estimates: During April 2015, short-term resident departures (776,500 movements) decreased 2.0% compared with March 2015 (792,400 movements). This followed monthly increases of 0.1% in February 2015 and 2.1% in March 2015.
Original estimates: There were 762,000 short-term resident departures from Australia in April 2015.
