TREND ESTIMATES
The trend estimate for short-term visitor arrivals to Australia for January 2007 (475,700 movements) increased by 0.7% compared with December 2006 (472,200 movements). This follows monthly increases of 0.9% for November 2006 and 0.7% for December 2006.
Currently, short-term visitor arrivals are 3.5% higher than in January 2006.
SEASONALLY ADJUSTED ESTIMATES
The seasonally adjusted estimate for short-term visitor arrivals to Australia for January 2007 (476,300 movements) decreased by 1.2% compared with December 2006 (482,000 movements). This followed a monthly decrease of 0.3% for November 2006 and a monthly increase of 3.1% for December 2006.
