ESTIMATED RESIDENT POPULATION DATA ITEMS Population and age groups Population counts and age group data are sourced from 2017 Estimated Resident Population (ERP) data. Estimated resident population (ERP) is the official estimate of the Australian population, which links people to a place of usual residence within Australia. The estimated resident population and age group data are as of 30 June 2017. This data can be found in Regional Population Growth, Australia, 2016-17 (cat. no. 3218.0). For more information on the differences between ERP and Census counts, see the ABS' Population FAQs. CENSUS DATA ITEMS Proportional information on person, family and household characteristics is sourced from the 2016 Census of Population and Housing.
