Welcome to the latest edition of the 'Local Government and ABS' newsletter.
What's in this issue?
This issue contains a feature article Population by Age and Sex for Regions of Australia highlighting a recent release containing population estimates for regions, including Local Government Areas. These data can be used to explore the age and sex distribution of the population of different areas. The article discusses the distribution of children, working age populations, people aged 65 years and over, and the sex ratio for regions including Local Government Areas and capital cities.
Another article in this issue highlights the release of a Data Quality Online tool designed to help users better manage their data and make informed decisions.
Other information in this issue includes an update on 'What's happening in Local Government Finance?', news on the 2011 Census of Population and Housing and the 2011 Agricultural Census, as well as information about a number of Recent and Future ABS releases. Future releases include Wage and Salary Earner Statistics for Small Areas and the next update of the National Regional Profile.
