In January 2010, the total value of building approvals in trend terms was $1,189 million, a 0.8% increase from the previous month and a 3.4% increase from January 2009. Residential buildings accounted for 57% of the total value of buildings. This publication is released monthly. BUILDING ACTIVITY In the September 2009 quarter, the total number of dwelling units completed in trend terms in Queensland was 8,150. This was a decrease of 4.5% from the June 2009 quarter. There were 5,468 new houses completed during the September 2009 quarter which represents 67% of the total number of dwelling units completed. In the September 2009 quarter, the trend estimate of the value of total building work done was $4,081 million. This was a decrease of 16% from the September 2008 quarter.
